My Poem About Eagles!

Hey guys (and gals)! It’s me, Ryan!

Today I made a poem my teacher wanted me to put on my blog.

Eagles

Eagles are majestic creatures,                                                                             kinda  like animal  teachers.                                                                                      Swooping from the cloudy sky,                                                                                           gliding, flapping, they can really fly!                                                                                     They are America’s trusty mascot,                                                                                             evil creatures they are not!                                                                                                          Flying really really high,                                                                                            like a tiny dot in the sky.

My Best Composition!

The prompt for my composition was: write about when you realized that you were good at something, so this is what I put.

Are you good at something? I am! I’m good at spelling. One time, I even went to a spelling bee! Here’s what happened:

My heart was pounding so hard, as if giants were stomping inside of me. I had butterflies in my stomach. It was round 4. I was very nervous. I prayed to get at least 7th place It was my turn. I gulped hard and walked to the microphone. The announcer said, “Spell scientist.” I was trembling. I paused for a moment. The crowd went silent. “S-C-I-E-N-T-I-S-T,” I blurted. It felt like forever as I waited for the announcer to say if it was correct. “Correct!” she said into her own mic. The audience cheered. All of my nervous feelings seemed to disappear! The other rounds whizzed by quickly. I was spelling them all correctly, pajamas, millipede, and even soldier. I was happy until round 12. I walked up to the mic happily. The announcer said, “Spell charcoal” I had never heard that before! My family only used gas grills! So I… guessed. “uhh… C-H-A-R… K-L-E?” I said. The crowd went silent. My mom shook her head blankly.  “Sorry, that is incorrect.” I sadly joined the audience to watch my friends. My friend, Sarah, got third. My friend, Reed, got 7th or 8th. I  got 6th.

That day, I learned that I was good at spelling. But most importantly, I learned that nobody’s perfect.

Thanks for reading my composition! Hope you have an awesome day! Until next time, Peace Out!
